The discussion centered on exploring student engagement opportunities – including Capstone Projects, Fieldwork, and Advocacy Internships – for final semester students of Public Policy and Governance.

These collaborations are envisioned as part of our upcoming health initiative, “Generics for All,” under the Health Programs of Vaaradhi Trust, focused on advancing accessibility, affordability, and awareness of generic medicines through research-grounded advocacy and community action.

Our discussions focused on exploring collaborative projects between Vaaradhi Trust and NAC, aimed at strengthening construction skill development pathways and creating meaningful opportunities for youth across Telangana.

Yesterday, we engaged in a constructive discussion with their team at our head office to explore the legal possibilities of impleading in the landmark public interest litigation case in the Honourable Supreme Court of India. This forms a crucial part of our advocacy efforts to ensure that high quality branded-generic / pure-generic medicines remain accessible and affordable for every citizen of India.

Visited and met Mr. Varun Vihar, Managing Director, Lorven Pharma and Surgicals, Hyderabad, a pharmaceutical company recognized for its commendable work in government supply and medicine distribution.

Lorven has recently been selected as the Telangana distribution partner for the Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), under the initiative of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi (PMBI), a flagship government program aimed at ensuring access to affordable and quality medicines for all.

This visit was aimed at understanding the implementation of PMBJP, its impact on the general public, and how it is supporting economically disadvantaged patients by providing low-cost generic medicines and improving accessibility across communities.

We also explored how government-led promotional efforts are increasing awareness about Janaushadhi Kendras and encouraging citizens to opt for generic medicines as an affordable alternative without compromising quality.

Promotion of Generics is one of the main focus areas under Health Initiative of Vaaradhi Trust.
